Royce White's stay with the Philadelphia 76ers was short lived.
According to reports, the team released the forward along with Vander Blue, Mac Koshwal and Khalif Wyatt on Thursday.
White, who struggles with anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic attacks and fear of flying, came to the 76ers on July 5 in a trade with the Houston Rockets. He was selected in the first round of the NBA Draft by the Rockets in 2012.
The decision to release White was considered somewhat of a surprise. Despite his inconsistent play during the preseason, he was expected to make the roster. The 22-year-old played in five exhibition games for the 76ers and averaged 5.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.4 turnovers.
"(Shout out) to the Sixers," White posted on Twitter. "Good luck to my boys, great guys. Be well."
With the Rockets, he never appeared in an NBA game but played in 16 games for Rio Grande in the NBA Developmental League anad averaged 11.4 points and 5.7 rebounds. He refused assignments to the Vipers on two occasions, clashing with the team over his health issues.
In an interview with USA Today last week, White said he wasn't stressing about making the 76ers' roster.
"Not as much as you would think, probably," White told the newspaper. "I have real-life anxieties, like three children, so I think about them most of the day. And then I think about business, so it's appropriately important. And especially with things like that -- I've been coached by doctors, counselors, to keep things that are out of your control out of your mind. Actively force yourself to try and not harp on things that aren't in your control.
"The only thing that I can control is coming out and playing, and whether I make the roster is obviously out of my control, once the game is over."
The 76ers, who are responsible for White's $1.7 million salary this season, must release one more player by Monday to reach the roster limit for the start of the regular season.
